He pulled from his guitar fragrances of the bayou, the delta, the dusty roads, places he’d been, songs which had come drifting in on the air through cracked smudged windows of various homes and shacks he had lived in, women he’d known, memories of odd jobs and fractured moments, light from stars, sunsets and lovers’ eyes.
